Roles in the project
In the extension stage SSE Riga will act both as a Scientific Partner (providing research expertise in the area of age management) and Facilitiating Partner coordinating and supervising the age management intervention in a Latvian company. Through participation in the extension stage SSE Riga will benefit from sharing information and knowledge about age management in different partner countries.

About us
SSE Riga has solid experience both in research related to integration of people aged 55+ in the labour market and in providing training and management courses. SSE Riga Executive Education Department offers programmes to major Latvian companies in the areas of change management, human capital development and personal leadership. During the Best Agers main stage project SSE Riga contributed with studies on 55+ employment as well as several pilot actions aimed at inclusion of people aged 55+ in labour market.

Why we participate in Best Agers (Lighthouses)
With demographic change, the cities and regions of the Baltic Sea Region have to find creative ways of disclosing and utilising unused opportunities. One of these hidden potentials are the people in the prime of their lives – the so called "Best Agers" (defined in the project as people aged 55 and older). As previous projects have shown, the BSR population will rapidly become older and the 55+ age groups will experience large growth rates until the year 2020. The result is a pool of older professionals who are healthier than ever, well educated and motivated and who can be mobilised to counteract the negative effects of demographic change – shrinking regional workforces and the so-called "brain drain". So far, this enormous potential has hardly been utilised. Through the involvement into this project, SSE Riga would like to contribute in finding ways to utilise this potential.
